Dark Pixels

If you have been playing on a potato PC or just really care about every single frame during a duel, you probably know how much high-res textures can slow things down. Dark Pixels takes a different route by cutting the resolution down to 8x8. It is half the size of the standard game textures, which helps a lot with performance without making the world look like a blurry mess.

While most Minecraft texture packs try to pack in more detail, this one focuses on clarity for PVP. It removes a lot of the visual clutter that gets in the way during a fight. You get lower fire that doesn't block your screen when you're burning, clear water for better visibility, and even a custom sky that won't lag your game. The textures are simplified, but they still have a nice style to them that feels intentional rather than just unfinished.

There are some really helpful combat features baked into the visuals too. It has a strength indicator for your bow so you know exactly when your shot is ready, and the ores have thick borders so you won't miss them while mining quickly. If you use the addons provided on the Modrinth page, just make sure you load them above the main pack in your settings so they actually show up properly.

This pack works great for older versions like 1.7 and 1.8, which is where most of the competitive community hangs out anyway. It is a solid choice if you need that extra FPS boost but still want your game to look decent. You can always browse more packs if you want to find something with a different resolution or theme.
