If you have ever used the famous animation pack that makes vanilla mobs look way more expressive, you know how weird it feels to see modded creatures standing perfectly still right next to them. This is exactly why Fresh Compats exists. It basically bridges the gap so that some of the most popular modded entities dont look out of place when you are running your favorite Minecraft texture packs. Instead of stiff limbs, you get that same fluid, bouncy movement on creatures from external mods.

Specifically, this pack focuses on things like the Red Merchant and various animal variants. If you use Quark, you will notice that his custom cow, pig, and chicken skins now move with the same logic as the vanilla ones. There is even a fix for those Enderman heads and better visuals for smaller pests like the bedbugs from Sleep Tight. The whole idea is to keep the art style consistent across your entire save file so nothing feels like a cheap addon.

To get this working, you cannot use Optifine because it does not handle modded entity models correctly. You really need Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features installed. Also, make sure you place this pack higher in your list than the original Fresh Animations pack in the menu. Since it relies on those base assets to function, the order is pretty important if you want the models to load right. It is a small download but makes a huge difference if you are tired of the default robot like movement on your modded animals.

It is definitely worth checking out if you want a more lively world. If you are looking to change more than just the animations, you can always browse more packs to find something that completes your visual setup.
