Overview
Fresh Moves is a resource pack that adds fluid, expressive animations to the player model using the Entity Model Features (EMF) system. It replaces the stiff default movements with more natural walking, running, and idling cycles inspired by the style of Fresh Animations.
Requirements
To use this pack, you must have the latest versions of Entity Model Features (EMF) and Entity Texture Features (ETF) installed. This pack does not work with OptiFine, as it relies on EMF's specific custom model logic.
Features
- Better Movement: Complete overhauls for walking, sprinting, and idle animations.
- Animated Faces: Support for blinking and expressive eyes. This requires adding specific pixels to your skin file—check the included documentation for the layout.
- Mod Compatibility: Built-in support for Parcool (parkour movements), Quark emotes, Not Enough Animations, and Amendments.
- Player Customization: Works with standard Steve and Alex models, as well as the newer character variants like Makena, Efe, and Noor.
- Fluid Swimming: New swimming animations that feel less rigid than the vanilla pose.
Resolution
This is a standard resolution pack (16x) that follows the vanilla Minecraft art style. Since it uses model-based animations rather than high-res textures, it has a minimal impact on FPS, though performance depends on your EMF settings.
Compatibility
The pack is designed for modern Minecraft versions where EMF and ETF are available (typically 1.19.x, 1.20.x, and 1.21.x). It works on both Fabric and Forge loaders as long as the dependency mods are present.
Setup Tips
- Enable "Allow skin transparency" in ETF skin settings to avoid issues with animated eyes.
- If your hand moves too much in first-person, enable "Prevent first person hand animation" in the EMF options menu.
- For the best experience with Parcool, it is recommended to disable "Fast Running" and "Fast Swimming" in the Parcool config to let the Fresh Moves animations take priority.
