    Dramatic Skys

Dramatic Skys is a lightweight add-on that replaces the default static sky with high-definition, realistic textures. It is designed to work alongside any other resource pack—just place it at the top of your active list in the resource pack menu.

    Features

    • Biome-specific skies: Textures change depending on which of the 79+ biomes you are currently in.
    • Day and night cycles: Unique visuals for sunrise, noon, sunset, and midnight.
    • Dynamic weather events: Includes animated auroras, shooting stars, and rare meteor showers.
    • Environmental effects: Custom fog and color maps that match the skybox.
    • Special events: Rare occurrences like Blood Moons, Blue Moons, and even tornados.
    • Custom assets: Animated sun textures and height-based sky transitions.

    Resolution and Performance

The pack uses high-resolution skyboxes, but it is optimized to run on low-end hardware and laptops without dropping your frame rate. Since it only affects the skybox and lighting maps, it does not impact block rendering performance.

    Compatibility

This pack is compatible with Minecraft 1.20 and older versions. Important: You must use a mod that supports custom skyboxes for the textures to appear. This includes Optifine (Optiboxes), Fabric Skyboxes (Nuit), or Celestial. It works on both Forge and Fabric as long as those skybox mods are present.

    Installation Note

For the best results, make sure "Custom Sky" is enabled in your video settings. If you are using shaders, some shader settings may override these textures, so you might need to disable the shader's internal sky or "Sky Desaturation" in the shader options.
