    Overview

Low Shield is a simple resource pack that shifts the shield model further down the screen in first-person view. By default, shields take up a massive chunk of your vision; this pack fixes that so you can actually see what you're fighting while blocking.

    Features

    • Improved Visibility: The shield sits much lower on the HUD, clearing up your center of vision.
    • Bug Fix (MC-98631): Corrects the vanilla issue where the right-hand shield sits higher than the left-hand shield (relevant for versions 1.21.1 and older).
    • Blocking View: Even when active/blocking, the shield remains tucked away enough to see over the top.
    • No Gameplay Changes: This is purely a visual model edit and does not change shield mechanics or hitboxes.

    Resolution & Performance

This pack uses standard 16x textures and minor JSON model tweaks. It has zero impact on FPS and works perfectly on low-end systems.

    Compatibility

    • Supports all versions from 1.8.9 up to the latest 1.21+ releases.
    • Works with any texture pack that uses the default shield model.
    • Compatible with OptiFine and Iris/Sodium.
    • No shaders or extra mods required.

    Usage & Credits

You’re free to include this in your modpacks or edit the files for personal use, just give credit where it's due. Please don't put this pack behind a paywall.
