    Translations for Sodium

Localized text and translations for the Sodium video settings menu and options.

    by robotkoer·Updated 2 days ago

    Overview

This resource pack adds full localization to the Sodium settings menu. By default, Sodium's video settings are only available in English; this pack fixes that by translating every button, slider, and tooltip into various other languages so you can actually understand what each performance setting does.

    Features

    • Translates the entire Sodium video settings interface.
    • Adds localized tooltips for complex settings like "Chunk Memory Management" and "Vertex Localization."
    • Matches the official Minecraft translation style for consistency.
    • Regular updates to fix typos or add new strings when Sodium updates.

    Supported Languages

We support most major languages including French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and many others. We generally focus on languages that have at least 1 million speakers and established support in the base game to ensure translation quality.

    Resolution and Performance

Since this is a UI-only text pack, it has a 1x resolution. It contains no images or textures, only language files (.json). It has zero impact on your FPS and takes up a negligible amount of disk space.

    Compatibility

    • Requires the Sodium mod to be installed.
    • Works on any Minecraft version that Sodium supports (1.16.x through 1.21.x and beyond).
    • Safe to use with other resource packs; just keep this pack at the top of your list to ensure the text overrides work.
    • Compatible with Fabric, Quilt, and NeoForge (via Embeddium/Sodium ports).

    Modpacks

You are free to include this pack in any modpack. No special permission is required.

If you see a mistake or want to help translate a new language, we use Crowdin for community submissions. Note that we do not currently accept "joke" languages (like Pirate Speak or LOLCAT) or fictional languages to keep the file size clean and the proofreading manageable.
