    Default HD 512x

High-resolution 512x512 textures that preserve the original vanilla aesthetic and color palette of default Minecraft.

    Default style, just sharper

Default HD 512x is a high-resolution overhaul for players who like the look of vanilla Minecraft but want more detail. It keeps the original colors and pixel layouts while adding smooth shading, better shadows, and 512x textures.

    Features

    • 512x512 resolution textures for much cleaner blocks and items.
    • Custom shading on blocks like grass, dirt, and stone to give them more depth.
    • Maintains the exact color palette of the default game so your builds still look the way you intended.
    • Added PBR mapping support for realistic lighting and reflections if you use shaders.
    • Redrawn icons and UI elements to match the high-res block textures.

    Resolution and Performance

This pack uses 512x textures, which is significantly higher than the standard 16x. You will need a decent GPU and should allocate more RAM to Minecraft to maintain a stable frame rate. If you are using shaders with the PBR features, expect a larger performance hit.

    Compatibility

This pack is updated for the latest versions of Minecraft. While it works as a standard resource pack, I highly recommend using OptiFine or Iris/Oculus to take full advantage of the custom shading and PBR maps. It is compatible with most mods that don't override core vanilla textures.

    Extra Info

This is a continuing project originally started in 2015. It stays true to the classic "Default but Better" philosophy without turning the game into a completely different realistic style. All textures are original work based on the vanilla assets.
