Overview
Enhanced Boss Bars replaces the standard, generic purple health bars with custom textures and unique colors for every boss and elite mob. The goal is to make boss fights actually look like major encounters instead of using the same repetitive UI for everything.
Features
- Completely new UI frames for the Ender Dragon and Wither.
- Custom health bar skins for major boss mods like Twilight Forest, Alex's Mobs, and Mowzie's Mobs.
- Distinctive color schemes for different bosses to help tell them apart at a glance.
- Support for mini-bosses and elite mobs across several popular modpacks.
- Redesigned icons and borders that fit the vanilla art style but with more detail.
Supported Library
The pack currently includes custom bars for:
- Twilight Forest: Hydra, Naga, Ur-Ghast, and Snow Queen.
- Alex's Mobs: Void Worm.
- Mowzie's Mobs: Frostmaw and Ferrous Wroughtnaut.
- Bosses of Mass Destruction: Night Lich, Void Blossom, and others.
- Meet Your Fight: Swampjaw and Bellringer.
Resolution and Performance
This pack is designed at the default 16x resolution to keep the "Minecraft feel" intact. It has zero impact on your FPS or game performance, as it only replaces UI textures.
Compatibility
Works on Minecraft versions 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.x, and 1.20.x. No specific mod loader (Forge/Fabric) is required since this is a standard resource pack.
Note on Mod Compatibility
Some mods like Cataclysm or The Aether use their own custom code for boss bars. If you are using those mods and notice the textures aren't applying correctly, you may need to use the companion mod version of this pack to force the UI changes.
UI Mod Tweaks
- Jade: If the boss bar overlaps with your Jade HUD, disable "Display Bosses" in the Jade settings menu.
- RPG-HUD: You may need to disable the "Entity Inspector" or move the compass position if the new bars overlap with your HUD layout.
