    Fresh Animations

Alternative entity models and dynamic animations designed to mimic the movement style of official Minecraft cinematics.

    Overview

Fresh Animations is a resource pack that overhauls the default entity models and animations in Minecraft. The goal is to move away from the stiff, original movement and give mobs more personality and life, similar to what you see in the official game trailers.

This is a work-in-progress project. While many mobs are finished, others are still being refined or added in major updates.

    Features

    • Dynamic Entity Models: Adds custom parts like blinking eyes, moving mouths, and improved limb structures.
    • Fluid Animations: Overhauls walking, idling, and attacking animations to be smoother and more expressive.
    • Massive Mob Support: Includes animations for Villagers, Iron Golems, Creepers, Zombies, Animals, Illagers, and many more.
    • Trailer Style: Gives the game a look that focuses on "believable" movement rather than robotic shifts.
    • Extensions: Supports additional add-on packs for extra details and specific features.

    Technical Requirements

This pack uses Custom Entity Models (CEM) to function. It will not work without specific mods. You have two main options:

    • OptiFine: Ensure "Custom Entity Models" is set to ON in your quality settings.
    • EMF & ETF: If you use Sodium/Iris, you must install Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features for the animations to show up.

    Resolution & Performance

The pack is designed to match the vanilla 16x resolution. Because it only changes models and animations rather than high-res textures, the performance impact is generally low, though having a large number of animated entities on screen at once may affect lower-end CPUs.

    Compatibility

    • Game Versions: Works on most modern versions of Minecraft (1.18 through 1.21+) as long as a compatible version of OptiFine or EMF is available.
    • Other Resource Packs: Fully compatible with Packs that only change textures. It is NOT compatible with packs that change entity models, as those will override the animations.
    • Bedrock Edition: This pack is for Java Edition only. No Bedrock port is currently planned.

    Important Notes

If you see mobs with white eyes or broken textures, it usually means your CEM settings are off or your mod version is outdated. Always check that you have the latest version of EMF/ETF or OptiFine before reporting issues.
