Overview
Minecraft's built-in "Programmer Art" is great for nostalgia, but it hasn't been properly updated since version 1.14. This means many newer blocks, items, and entities use the modern "Jappa" art style, which looks jarring alongside the classic textures. This pack fixes those inconsistencies by backporting the old-school 2011-era aesthetic to modern Minecraft content.
Note: For this pack to work correctly, make sure it is placed above the official Programmer Art pack in your resource pack list.
Features
- Blocks: Re-textured modern blocks like Netherite, Copper, Deepslate, and Mangrove/Cherry wood to match the classic palette. Includes fixes for Crying Obsidian particles and soul fire blocks.
- Items: Updated icons for Trial Keys, Netherite tools, Raw Metals, and newer food items. Netherite armor and tools now more closely resemble the original Diamond/Iron armor shading styles.
- Entities: Re-designed textures for newer mobs like the Allay, Warden, Bogged, and various Wolf variants to fit the pre-1.14 mob style.
- GUI & Icons: Classic-style icons for modern status effects (Darkness, Raid Omen, etc.) and updated menu buttons to match the old interface.
- Bug Fixes: Corrects long-standing texture mapping issues on older models like the Iron Golem and various villager professions.
Resolution
This is a 16x16 resolution pack, staying true to the original Minecraft look. Since it uses standard resolutions and basic textures, there is zero negative impact on performance. It is perfectly suitable for low-end PCs.
Compatibility
- Compatible with Minecraft 1.14 and all versions up to the current latest release.
- Requires the built-in "Programmer Art" pack to be enabled underneath it.
- Works with OptiFine and Continuity for connected glass textures.
- Supports major snapshots, including recent April Fools updates.
